  • Masala Khichdi: A wholesome dish made with rice and split green mung beans cooked together with mixed vegetables in aromatic spices. A balanced healthy comfort meal eaten throughout India, in varying versions with regional influences.

  • Pav Bhaji: Originating in the streets of Mumbai is one of the most popular street food with stalls found in every popular local spot, some serving up into the wee hours. Bhaji, is cooked mixed vegetables, mashed up, infused in a melangé of spices is slathered in butter or cooking oil accompanied with a griddle toasted bun (pav) and a side of chopped onions. It is also available in various local versions throughout India. 

  • Hyderabadi Biryani: A baked vegetable and rice dish indused with saffron, from the Mughlai cuisine of Hyderabad (southern India) made with special spice blend from the region.

  • Masoor Daal Dhokli: A favorite suppertime dish from Gujarat. Fresh whole wheat Indian pasta, spiced with red chilies and cumin, simmered in split Masoor daal (red lentils) soup, topped with fresh pomegranate seeds.

 

Classes typically run 3-3 1/2 hours. Class prices include the cost of the meal, 1 non-alcoholic welcome drink, and the class itself

 

BYOB wine or beer. Wine pairings can be recommended. The class is conveniently located in Brookly Heights, steps from the Brooklyn Promenade and near all major subways. Once you register your class, the address will be sent to you via email.

 

**Note: If you cancel two weeks before your class you will receive a full credit, which you can apply to another class. After that, you may send someone else in your place (please notify in advance if you're doing this).
